Great Wall castle remains discovered

Context:

The remains of a Great Wall castle dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) were discovered in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

what is found:

The remnants of Qingpingbao castle which was a great wall castle, located in Jingbian county, Yulin city. Two courtyards were found along with a stone tablet. They also found 30 painted clay statues.


where found:

These were found in the Shanxi Province in north-western China.


who found:

The local villagers found those relics when excavating soil for making a road nearby. Afterward, the Shaanxi Academy of Archaeology took the matter into their hands.

when excavated:

In May 2020, the relics were unearthed.
