About the arts-

The hand-painted rock arts date back around 36000 years(Pleistocene epoch), one of them being 40000 years old as per the findings of Uranium Series Dating by Griffith University of Australia. These paintings were discovered by Dutch archaeologist H. R. Van Heekeren well before he published them in 1950.
